Proud Flesh On My Mares Leg?
I've never used Equiaide, but if it doesn't work or you want to try something different, I recommend Underwood's Horse Medicine. My horse had an injury that developed proud flesh. We were putting medicine on it (I can't remember what we tried first--the vet recommended it) and keeping it wrapped, and it kept it from getting worse but it really wasn't healing, either. Finally I switched to using Underwood's, which doesn't require wrapping--you just put baking soda (or powder? I can't remember) over it after you spray it on and it forms a crust. The proud flesh was dried up and gone in a matter of a couple of days. It also worked wonders on my sister's mare when she ripped her knee open and it couldn't be stitched and she got sensitive from being wrapped so much, and it healed her injury amazingly well (and fast) compared to everything else we had tried. Some co-ops/feed/tack stores have it, or you can order it online at underwoodhorsemedicine.com.
