Are racists bad people?

I think people who are racist were raised to be that way or had bad first impressions on that race at a young age. I used to be racist against Arab people because I was 7 when 9/11 happend and so I thought they were all terrorists. I began to realise some weren't all bad when I made a friend who was Arab when I was 11. I then began to accept that race. I don't think they deserve to go to Hell since it's not always their fault.
